Join us April 12-15, 2012 for a fun creative weekend of mixed media, collage, bookbinding, altered arts, calligraphy, encaustics, jewelry, metal and more... We're excited about our new home- the Embassy Suites Dublin, a beautiful full-service hotel featuring all-suite rooms and an 8 story garden atrium- home to this year's Marketplace and Outsider Art Fair. All events take place on site at hotel- with great spaces for classes and attendees to gather. (For those of you far away, Dublin is a northern suburb of Columbus).

At our unconventional "convention" there's something for everyone: 45 varied workshops with some of the country's top instructors, an Artist's Marketplace, Outsider Art Fair and fun special parties like a Steampunk Street Faire, the Women Artists Ball and a Mad Hatter Tea and more! Take a full schedule of workshops or just a few; come for the weekend or just the day.

In our tenth year, there are some changes in store... If new to Artiscape we hope to wow you- if returning, we've tweaked and reorganized, keeping things fresh. As ever, the goal is a fun, educational weekend among friends- old and new! More details below...

The Embassy Suites Dublin is the perfect setting for Artiscape-An Artist's Gathering! This full service hotel features all-suite rooms and an 8-story garden atrium. (For those of you far away, Dublin is a northern suburb of Columbus). Beautifully appointed, the hotel has abundant meeting rooms, lovely public areas, an on-site restaurant (as well as a Starbucks!) lounge and more. It offers a perfect blend of cosmopolitan accommodations, along with the convenient, free, on-site parking. Artiscape will take over the hotel for the weekend. There is a special rate of $109 for Artiscape attendees; to receive please mention "Artiscape" when booking by phone at 1-800-220-9219. The hotel has also set up a special reservations web page to take bookings. Our block is not large and will sell out, so please don't delay in making your reservations.

THURS - SUN - Forty-five workshops for all levels presented by a fantastic line up of instructors, including Jonathan Talbot, Barbara Close, Jacqueline Sullivan, Lesley Venable, Shari Replogle to name but a few...

Artist's Marketplace ~ Open to the public
SATURDAY 10-5:00 ~ Artiscape vendors bring a wide array of alternative art materials including fine art rubber stamps and accessories, papers, inks, fibers, beads, books and videos. The perfect place to pick up both basic materials and unusual supplies. Visit Saturday afternoon (12-3:00) to take part in a scavenger hunt- there'll also be some giveaways! There's also the Artiscape Store, sponsored by European Papers, open all weekend.

Tickets for the Artist's Marketplace can be purchased on-site at the event for $5.
Registered attendees; participating in workshops or those with a Weekend Pass, enter the Marketplace FREE.

Steampunk Street Faire
Friday Evening ~ The weekend festivities begin with a unique welcoming party. Designed like a street carnival, this event includes amazing desserts, light snacks, cocktails and special preview of the Artiscape Marketplace. What fun! Five presenting artists will give ongoing, concurrent demonstrations of various art and design techniques. Each demo is different, just like the wonderful panel of artists we've selected for their skills and unique style. Their tricks and techniques will inspire you in your artwork. (Included in Weekend Pass)

All Geared Up! Collaborative Art Project
Create a work of Steampunk art! Anything goes here- jewelry, mixed media, 3D assemblages, a handbound book, etc. as long as it's Steampunk. Pieces are collected beginning Friday displayed en masse to make one large art showing. A silent auction benefits a charitable organization.
Auction ends Sunday at 1:30 pm; bidding open to all

Women Artist's Ball ~ New in 2012!
Saturday Evening ~ Visit with other attendees at this fun gathering with a special dinner, cocktails and more! Enjoy a costumed performance of Victorian dance. Dancers will be on hand to assist you trying your hand at these intricate dances. Join in or sit back and enjoy watching others- either way it'll be a hoot! After dinner, enjoy a special presentation by artist Jonathan Talbot, "Women Artists You Should Know." Part art history, part discussion of the current landscape, it will make you think about who your role models are and why. This "recharge your batteries" event is a perfect way to enjoy Saturday night. (Included in Weekend Pass)

ALL WEEKEND ~ Take a chance! An incredible collection of artist tools and supplies that every artist wishes for, now made possible with just a $1 ticket. You'll be dreaming you're a winner...

Blick Artist Studio ~ The Blick Artist Studio is for registered Artiscape attendees only
ALL WEEKEND ~ A special place has been reserved for you- with work tables and places to lounge; the Blick Artist Studio is yours to come play, work and visit with other attendees 24 hours a day. Conveniently located just off the front lobby.

Outsider Art Fair
SUNDAY 11-5:00 ~ Be inspired by beautiful creations in jewelry, paper, book arts, glass, metal and more! On Sunday, visit this boutique show of finished art- a big hit with attendees last year! Beautiful creations in jewelry, paper, book arts, mixed media, fiber and more will be on display to inspire and tempt you. Visit with the artists and purchase a handcrafted item as a memento of this special weekend. This event is free and open to the public. A preview of artists will be online prior to April.

Mad Hatter Tea
SUNDAY 1-2:00 ~ Do you have a crazy hat? Bring it to this wonderful event to end the weekend! Enjoy an afternoon tea with light snacks, desserts and tea while you visit with other attendees. Dream Raffle drawing; prizes awarded for trades and best hat!This event is a huge hit with attendees! (Included in Weekend Pass)
